This was one of those weekends where everyone decided to have their birthday party/film screening/final concert/bar crawl on Saturday night at the same time as far as possible from one another in the corner of each borough. Whoops! Dan and I had Knicks tickets and had narrowed down a few of the events to grace with our presence, but then he had a horrible, debilitating back spasm that kept him in bed all of Friday and most of Saturday. We made it through the Knicks game, in a "these tickets were too expensive to eat so I'm having FUN GODDAMNIT" kind of way. But he had to spend most of the weekend lying down.
I felt so bad for him. He was clearly in a bad way. He couldn't even sit up to watch Sunny DVDs with me as I stuffed envelopes, folded tissue poms, finished the table numbers, and made a trial bouquet.
I'm not very crafty in general and tend to procrastinate, so in a way, this whole horrible debilitating spasm was good. Stuffing envelopes turned out to be a decent distraction in between attending to my softly moaning fiance. But don't worry--- I wasn't entirely without help. My friend Mary stopped by.
Mary fixes everything.
